1. Reaching a person

Write to kipackjeong@devitall.co and it is read by the person who built the app. There is no ticket queue and no bot. A reply usually takes a day or two.

From inside the app, Settings → Send feedback is the faster route for a bug: it files the report directly with no identifier attached, so add an email address in the message itself if you want an answer back.

If you are writing about something going wrong, the three things that make it fixable are: what you expected to happen, what happened instead, and your iOS version (iOS Settings → General → About → Software Version).

2. What you need

With Him is an iPhone app and requires iOS 26 or later. There is no iPad layout, no Mac version and no Android version. It works entirely offline — the Bible ships inside the app — so a lost connection never stops you reading.

3. The alarm

The alarm did not go off

Work through these in order; the first two account for almost every case.

Permission. iOS Settings → With Him → make sure alarms and notifications are allowed. If the permission was denied once, the alarm is scheduled but has nothing to show.
The alarm is enabled. In the app, an alarm has a switch of its own as well as a time. Both matter.
Focus and Do Not Disturb. System alarms are normally allowed through, but a Focus with a strict allow-list can silence the sound.
The phone was off. A powered-down or drained phone cannot ring; iOS schedules nothing while it is off.

Do not use With Him as your only alarm for anything that matters. A flight, a shift, medication, an appointment — keep a second alarm. This is a habit, not a safety-critical system, and it depends on iOS behaving normally.

It rang, but I could not stop it

The alarm ends when the verse on screen has been read aloud. If speaking is not possible — a quiet room, a sore throat, a recogniser that is not cooperating — switch to typing on the same screen and the alarm ends the same way. An escape route always exists; you are never locked in a ringing phone.

Can I have a one-off alarm?

Alarms currently repeat on the weekdays you choose. Turning one off after it has done its job is one tap.

4. Reading aloud

The words are not lighting up

Recognition runs on Apple's on-device recogniser, and it needs three things: microphone permission and speech-recognition permission (both in iOS Settings → With Him), a language the recogniser supports downloaded on the device (iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Dictation), and a room quiet enough to hear you over.

Read at a normal pace rather than slowly. The match is forgiving about small differences, and a word or two that will not land is not meant to trap you — the typing fallback is there for exactly that.

Is my voice recorded?

Verse-reading audio is processed on your iPhone and is not recorded or uploaded. The app keeps the completion outcome; if you sign in, a summary of completed readings can also be stored with your account. Optional sermon recording and AI processing are separate features that handle audio differently. See the privacy policy for details.

5. The Focus Shield

Turning it on

The shield needs Screen Time authorisation, which iOS asks for once. You then choose the apps it applies to. It is set up for you, on your own phone — it is not a parental control and does not manage anyone else's device.

Turning it off

In the app, the shield's switch turns it off immediately. There is no waiting period and no penalty for stopping. If you would rather withdraw the permission entirely, iOS Settings → Screen Time removes it, and doing so lifts the shield.

It is not appearing

The shield interrupts after a stretch of use rather than at the moment you open an app, so it will not appear on a quick check. Confirm Screen Time authorisation is still granted — iOS drops it if Screen Time is turned off system-wide — and that at least one app is selected.

Why can the app not show me which apps I picked?

Apple hands the app opaque tokens instead of app identities, by design. We genuinely cannot see your selection, which is also why the app shows counts rather than names.

6. What costs money, and what does not

The Bible reader is free and stays free. The complete offline text, search, cross-references, highlights, notes, bookmarks and the daily verse are not behind the subscription and are not scheduled to be.

With Him Plus buys the two mechanics around the reading: the alarm that ends when a verse is read aloud, and the Focus Shield. It is offered monthly or annually, and the price, the period and any trial are shown on the purchase screen in your own currency before you confirm.

I paid, but Plus is not active

Open the paywall and tap Restore purchases. If nothing is found, the usual cause is a different Apple Account — subscriptions belong to the Apple Account that bought them, not to the app. Sign in with that account and restore again.

7. Cancelling and refunds

Cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → With Him, or through Manage subscription inside the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Only the step above does.

Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com — we cannot issue them ourselves. If something went wrong, write anyway; we would rather know than not.

8. Account and your data

Reading, alarms, shielding and manual sermon notes work without an account. Sign in with Apple is optional for those local features and required for AI sermon processing. You can sign in during onboarding or later in Settings.

To delete an account: Settings → Account → Delete account, inside the app. That removes the identity record and revokes the token grant at Apple. It does not cancel a subscription, which is tied to your Apple Account.

Your highlights, notes, bookmarks and alarms are kept on your phone; supported library content may sync through your private iCloud account. If you sign in, a summary of completed verse readings is also stored with your account. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. 9. Bible translations and language

Three translations ship inside the app, all public domain, each carried with its own attribution: the Berean Standard Bible, the World English Bible, and 성경전서 개역한글판. You can switch between them in Settings.

The app itself is fully translated into English and Korean and follows your iPhone's language. If you would like another language, or another translation, that is a useful thing to write in about — it is how the list gets longer.
